We are located in
the heart of Historic Downtown Franklin at 132 Third Avenue
South, across from city hall, and next door to Christ Community
Chapel.
The property was purchased April 9, 2002 by the Carmans from
Christ Community Church. Renovations were complete approximately
60 days later and Lillie Belle’s served its first lunch
on Tuesday, June 18, 2002.
The namesake for Lillie Belle’s is Lillie Bell Sims,
Bud’s maternal grandmother who raised 6 boys and 3 girls
in McNairy County, Tennessee. Lillie Bell Sims never made
it to Middle Tennessee, as far as we know, living all her
life in McNairy County with her husband John Henry. John Henry
was a farmer and Lillie Bell was a farmer’s wife, raising
9 children. It seemed appropriate to us that we honor Lillie
Bell Sims by naming our tearoom in her honor.
